The Tziyun of the Alshich Hakadosh — Tzfas

At one of the Alshich Hakadosh's drashos sat a simple man who made his living hauling dirt with his horse and wagon. He heard a drashah on bitachon in the Eibershter with no gashmiyus'dike reason at all. The man stopped working on the spot, sold the donkey and the wagon, and sat down to learn with complete bitachon that his parnassah would come in a wondrous way. The goy who bought the animals found a treasure with their help — and was killed in a cave-in; and the donkey came back on its own, carrying sacks full of gold, to its former owner. When the Alshich's talmidim asked how a simple man reached a madreigah they had not, their rebbi answered that he had absolute emunah and bitachon. Through his simple, pure emunah he brought about yeshuos above nature — and his maaseh serves as a segulah for parnassah until today.
